Her Story
My dream has always been to be a published author. I decided to self-publish. This has been such a learning experience.
“T’s Telling the Truth” was published in May 2023. Since then, I have published four more books. Check them out below, starting with the newest.
Fiction Novels
If these walls could talk, they’d tell a story worth hearing…
For 15 years, the breakroom at Beyond Books has been a silent witness to countless conversations—whispers of office gossip, confessions of heartache, bursts of laughter, and moments of quiet reflection. But among all the voices that have passed through, four stand out.
Aniala, Caroline, Iris, and Ronnie—four women with different struggles, hopes, and fears—form an unbreakable bond over their 30-minute lunch break. In this small window of time, they find solace, strength, and purpose. Through heartwarming conversations, they navigate love, loss, family, and self-discovery, proving that even the shortest moments can leave the deepest impact.
Told from the unique perspective of the walls holding their secrets, this story is about friendship, resilience, and the unexpected places we find belonging.
Poetry
The pain in her heart paralyzed her. Emotionally and physically, she suffered. She tried to forget, but the tears dropped. Everyone told her it's the process. With time, she’d heal. But she was impatient. Writing became her muse, and she poured her heart out on paper. Each entry, each word, brought her closer to recovery. The hardest part was admitting the truth. She, like so many, fell for a narcissist. After years of verbal and emotional abuse, Theresa found the courage to say goodbye. This is her story told in poetry.
T’s Telling the Truth
Speechless
Kennedy Jackson is an aspiring writer striving to become a published author. However, her romantic life is in shambles, and she is at a loss for words. As her dreams draw closer to becoming a reality, her beliefs about intimacy are challenged, and she must explore all forms of love, including self-love. Her young adult novel follows the journey of Teagan, a fictional character who symbolizes Kennedy's own experiences and struggles. They use poetry and self-reflection to see their self-worth and pursue their purpose.
This is Me
I wasn't supposed to be here. I wasn't supposed to make it to 40. But I did. I survived depression, abuse, heartbreak, and the loss of loved ones. Through it all, poetry has guided me through dark times.
This collection of poems traces my life's journey, revealing my deepest secrets while celebrating the woman I've become. I inhaled the words on these pages and exhaled the anxiety and depression that tried to consume me.
More than a testament to survival, this is a tribute to my first love: poetry.
T's Telling the Truth is a poetic journey of self-discovery. For most of her life, Theresa was afraid to speak up. However, after being silenced for too long, she knows the importance of telling her story. This is only a small collection of the poetry she wrote about her experience with abuse, depression, and losing loved ones. Through her writing, she learned to heal, love again, and most importantly, love herself.
